Penny grew up in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. She received her dual bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Nursing from Southern Vermont College. She started her healthcare career in 1995, first as a Licensed Nursing Assistant and then as a Registered Nurse. She spent almost 17 years working for her local hospital organization and skilled nursing facility. In order to meet a need within her organization, she furthered her education and ultimately became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Vermont, a title that she still holds today.
She attended Sage Graduate school in Troy and Albany, New York where she earned her master’s degree and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, in 2014. She started her NP career as a Primary Care Provider in rural Shaftsbury, Vermont. There she was able to build relationships with patients and families, which is very important to her. After four years, she had an opportunity to specialize in a subspecialty of Neurology, where she received her Multiple Sclerosis and Migraine training in Latham, NY. She received her MS board certification through the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses in 2019.
Penny is passionate about helping people and enjoys spending time with her patients. She is also very family oriented and greatly enjoys spending time with her two sons. She enjoys fishing, gardening, and working in her yard.
